Issue 10 March 4

Our members and guests got an inside view on the operation of the Duval County Tax Collector’s Office last week. Guest speaker Michael Corrigan summarized the positive gains this government office has made recently. For example, the new online appointment system greatly minimizes wait times for citizens. With property taxes and driver’s licenses ranking as the most common transactions in this office, Michael and his team are committed to keeping people’s homesteads and driving privileges at the top of the priority list.

Don’t forget that our annual wine raffle is in full swing! Bring your favorite red or white to a Wednesday meeting as a donation, then purchase your raffle ticket for $7. Prices will go up each month. We debuted this type of fundraiser last year and it was hugely successful.

This week our speaker is Matt Carlucci from State Farm Insurance. He’ll review the impact of recent hurricanes on Jacksonville citizens and how our city can be better prepared for the storm next season.
