Issue 110 January 30

Our speaker last week, Terrance Freeman from Jacksonville City Council At-Large gave an inspirational talk about his humble beginnings and how he played pro baseball. After his athletic career ended he was a coach and went back to school and is currently working on his Doctorate in educational administration. As a Council member he talked about his appointment by Governor Scott to a position vacated by a former Council member. He told us how he faced adversity taking over his position and the threats and intimidation he faced. He eventually won over the hearts and minds of those he served and was elected to his position in a general runoff.
If you have not attended in a while, I encourage you to come to a meeting at our new location at Fogo De Chao at the Town Center. The food has been great and we have been getting great feedback. See you next week!
