During last Wednesday’s meeting, we received an informative update from Jax Chamber CEO Daniel Davis. Under his leadership, the Chamber exceeded last year’s business recruitment goals by a substantial margin. There’s been positive job growth in the northwest side of Jacksonville where Amazon.com decided to build their distribution facility. Future goals for the Chamber include a possible campaign for downtown living and assisting in the activation of vacant, government owned property.
Don’t forget that our annual wine raffle is in full swing! Bring your favorite red or white to a Wednesday meeting as a donation, then purchase your raffle ticket for $5. Prices will go up each month. We debuted this type of fundraiser last year and it was hugely successful.
We are pleased to welcome John Chappelear as our guest speaker this week. John is a well known organizational consultant, author and speaker. The topic of his talk will be “Reducing Stress and Creating Balance”. We’ll also host our monthly Table Talk business networking session at this meeting.
