Issue 13, March 26th

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting Emily Lisska as our guest speaker. Emily is the executive director at the Jacksonville Historical Society and she shared some interesting facts about Jacksonville and our club, specifically. St. Elmo “Chick” Acosta and John T. Alsop Jr. made significant contributions to our city, and according to historical records, SBMC was directly involved in honoring these two men by organizing the official naming process and dedication of the two Jacksonville bridges which they are named after.

This week we’ll hear from Ken Babby and his plans for our city’s minor league baseball team, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.
