Issue 13 March 8th
Last week we were privileged to have Daniel Bean, president of the Jacksonville Historical Ship Association. He spoke of the difficulties we have had with the Navy getting the USS Adams here. Due to the dedication and perseverance of Capt. Bean and his team, they found a ship controlled by a non-profit in Lake Charles, LA and are very close to getting that ship, the USS Orleck for Jacksonville. This is a Vietnam era ship, and will give us an opportunity to give a much delayed, but richly deserved thank you to our Vietnam veterans. SBMC strongly supports Capt. Dean and his efforts.
