Issue 21, May 21

Last week we learned about the Guardian Ad Litem program from Case Coordinator Neci Williams. It is a state mandated program helping abused, abandoned and neglected children. Guardian Ad Litem volunteers can work 10 hours per month and make a huge impact in the lives of vulnerable children who need a voice in the court system.

This Wednesday we will have Channel 4 Meteorologist Richard Nunn as our guest speaker. If you’ve heard him speak before then you know he will have us laughing! Hurricane season is coming up so we need as much information as possible.

Monday, May 22 is our YAP Charity Golf Classic. All funds go directly to our scholarship program for college bound students (who were once 5th grade patrols that received funding from SBMC to visit Washington, D.C.).

Also, don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets for our YAP Wine Raffle. All tickets are $10.00 and you don’t have to be present to win. Please bring in bottles of wine to donate. One lucky raffle winner will win ALL of the bottles of wine that are being donated. The drawing will be held at our May 31st meeting, which will be our Scholarship Awards Program. We would like as many members as possible to attend this meeting to show our support to the students. You can purchase raffle tickets online and register for the meeting here.

See you tomorrow at the golf tournament or Wednesday at the meeting.
