Hello SBMC!
Thanks for not booing me off while I ran the meeting this past week. Julie is in quick recovery from moving.
We heard from radio personality Bill Hay as our guest speaker last week. He’s lived in Jax all his life and had some great stories about our history. Not to mention he had just a few opinions (haha) about some items such as Daily’s Place Amphitheater, Shad Khan, Dredging, and The Chamber of Commerce, just to mention a few. If you weren’t here, you missed some interesting discussions.
Scholarship Chairman Howard Caplan presented the final YAP scholarships to two young ladies that were not able to attend last week. That is what SBMC is all about, giving back. Our Club has awarded over $250,000 in scholarships since we started several years ago. GO SBMC!
Next week our speaker will be the ever energetic SBMC member Senator Aaron Bean. He always brings good topics so you definitely don’t want to miss it.
