One of the biggest benefits the SBMC provides to its membership is the chance to hear guest speakers that are making big impacts in the city of Jacksonville. Last week Brad Thoburn from the Jacksonville Transportation Authority led our program. He brought us up to date on the future of the JTA Skyway. Brad and his team are developing a program called Modernization and Expansion of the Skyway. Their next steps will be community outreach, project development and possibly a new name. Keep a look out for the Ultimate Urban Circulator or U2C.
This week’s guest speaker is Jerry Mallot with JAXUSA. If you are unfamiliar with JAXUSA they are the regional economic development organization serving Jacksonville and the seven counties of NE Florida. I’m looking forward to hearing about the new businesses that are coming here that will bring revenue to our wonderful city.
