Hawooo Lawdy! We puttin’ some grease in da skillet now!

On Tuesday, we are continuing our Veterans Day float constructing. This is being held at the same location as last year (see details below): it’s air conditioned and has a decent bathroom!! Also, there will be food provided; you just need to bring your own adult bevies, if you wish. REMEMBER: every time you sign in at float the worksite, your name is entered for the drawing to win a parking pass and 2 great seats for the Jaguars vs. (YOUR CHOICE) the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night November 19th, San Diego Chargers at 1pm on Sunday November 29th, Indianapolis Colts at 1pm on Sunday December 13th, or Atlanta Falcons at 1pm on December 20th.

At Wednesday’s weekly meeting, our guest speaker will be First Coast No More Homeless Pets. Since 2002, they have facilitated more than 170,000 pet sterilizations in the First Coast area. Also, they have seen an overall reduction in shelter pet intake, as well as a more than 90 percent decrease in the number of animals being euthanized. If you’re an animal lover, you won’t want to miss this meeting!

Thursday from 5 to 7pm, we are having our final Meet-a-Member for the year, at Hardage Giddens/ Greenlawn Cemetery on Beach Blvd. Yes, that’s right, at a cemetery! Past President Tom Harris, Harry Peltz and others are putting the ‘fun’ in FUNeral; thus preparing us for the upcoming Halloween season! Tickets are only $5! This includes always-tasty funeral home food, and bevies! See below for more details.

Friday is our Monthly Golf Outing, with Nico! This time we’re at Deerwood Golf & Country Club. Cost to participate is $50.00 (+tax) with only a few spots available. The price includes green/cart fees and range balls prior to your round. Shotgun start at 12:00 noon. If you want to be a part of this fun monthly event get in touch with Nico Hogeveen at nhogeveen@golftec.com Of course, you can ‘see below’ for more details.

Saturday, October 10th is SBMC VIP day at Jaxtoberfest!! Annie and I have our tickets; you need yours! Each of these tickets are a $40 value, but are only $20 for SBMC members! Buy them for you and your adult family members! Give them to your clients, or employees!! These are great giveaways and are tax-deductible (confirm with your C.P.A.). Best of all, every dollar we raise, stays within SBMC; not just a portion, every cent!! See below for more details.

On Sunday morning, you’ll get to enjoy another one of my fantastic President’s Messages, (and the rest of the newsletter). You don’t have to ‘see below’ for this; you just have to wait.

LASTLY: Don’t forget that I’ve laid down the attendance gauntlet! Every time you eat at a weekly SBMC meeting, your business card will be stamped at the check-in table. Show Christy your card and eating utensils, and she’ll punch you! Collect 5 stamps between now and December 9th, and your 6th meeting/meal is on me!!

Hawooo Lawdy! Bein’ in SMBC just don’t get no betta!
