Issue 44, November 1, 2015

As you are likely aware, this year I wanted SBMC to partner with our non-profit organization members to help them achieve some of their goals.  I budgeted $500 for each organization to put toward whatever need they wanted to achieve.  Needless to say I received a variety of proposals from our members, but when it comes to the grandiose, Warrior City wins in a landslide.

This initiative took on great momentum to become a large scale production that will take place at the Jacksonville Landing this coming Saturday, starting at 4:30pm.

Past President’s John Hamel, Gene Maszy and Club member Jerry Shaffer of Warrior City (along with the guidance of event V.P. Steve DeSorbo) take all the credit for putting this massive project together.  Fidelity National Financial stepped up to be the presenting sponsor.  Adamec Harley-Davidson sponsored the motorcycle ride leading up to the event at the Landing.  Hooters will house the VIP area with A.Y.C.E. food and beverages.  Warrior City secured Nashville recording artist (and Navy veteran) Jared Ashley to be the headlining artist!  SBMC’s own Dirt Floor Krackers will also be playing on the Landing stage at 5pm.

–A number of our Club members have purchased VIP packages for this.  For $300, they receive 10 tickets to the VIP area during this event.

–If you don’t need 10 tickets, but want to attend, individual tickets can be purchased for $30 ($25 if you’re a vet).

–For those of us who cannot attend, but would like to support this, a $25 option for one ticket is available.  This gifted ticket will be given to a U.S. military vet, or active duty serviceperson, so that they can attend.

As Annie and I will be heading out of town and will not be able to attend, I went to www.sbmcjax.com and purchased a ticket to donate to a vet.

I hope everyone will have a great time at this fun event!!  Thanks again for supporting our veterans!
