Issue 78 June13

This past week we welcomed Ken Babby, Owner of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Mr. Babby also owns the Double-A team Akron Rubber Ducks and serves on many boards in Ohio and Northeast Florida.

Babby spoke on the challenges of the previous year and how the franchise dealt with COVID-19. The Shrimp were able to uphold their promise of not laying off a
single staff member during this time by shifting its focus to 110 other events that benefited the Jacksonville community. Whether it was hosting Movie Night or Bingo, allowing High school students to play their final game on 121 Financial Ballpark field, or hosting a successful July 4th firework show, Babby has shown that he is committed to Jacksonville.

Babby is excited about the year ahead and how his organizations look forward to serving over 700,000 fans this season. They will continue on with the bobble head giveaways, firework shows, and “$2” Thirsty Thursdays. Jacksonville is only one of 60 cities to have a AAA team and will continue to have a baseball team until at least 2043.

Join us this week as we welcome Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams. Make sure that you RSVP to ensure your spot and don’t forget to bring guests for this dynamic week’s program.
