Wednesday, we heard from Chris Hand, former Jacksonville Mayoral Chief of Staff and former press secretary for and co-author with former Senator Bob Graham. Chris talked about the 50th anniversary of Jacksonville’s consolidation, some of the issues being debated in the once-a-decade charter revision commission, and the importance of civic education. Chris authored the 50th anniversary update of the Robert Martin Book, A Quiet Revolution, about consolidation. It is a must-read for anyone interested in Jacksonville politics and how we got to where we are today.
